The personal web site of Tom Atkins 

There are a zillion Tom Atkins' on the web. I'm the one who is a professional creative, brainstormer, businessman, TV engineer, writer, poet, artist, marketing consultant, teacher, thinker, speaker, photographer and.... Well I've never been able to describe what I do in a "25 words or less" phrase!

For over 20 years, I've worked as a Systems Engineer, developing groundbreaking DTV and HDTV systems. I was one of the "founding four" of The Whitlock Group, and later, a partner in TGS, (now owned by Ascent Media.). Today I continue that work as the head of Diversified Systems' Mid Atlantic Division 

During those same 20 years, I've been active in marketing and creative work, both at Whitlock and TGS, and later as a partner in The Kingma Agency. I continue that work through Summit Manor, partnering with a variety of strategic partners to create breakthrough success for my clients, mostly in technology fields.

I am been a member of Colonial Avenue Baptist Church, Troutville Baptist Church, and most recently have been attending Wellspring Presbyterian church. I am author of The Wisdom Letters, an e-book on everyday wisdom, creator of the Summit Manor creativity blog, and a former director of Sing-Out Roanoke Valley. In 1998, I began Summit Manor  - first as a ministry focused on Spiritual Gifts and Creativity in life, work and ministry, and later expanding into freelance creativity.

Schools? I went to Douglas Freeman High School, Virginia Tech (for my BA), Hollins (for my MA in creative writing), and Christian Bible College and Seminary (for my D Div.). I also did some graduate studies at VCU.
