I spent nearly a decade of my professional career working for dealers, and the better part of another decade doing systems integration. Believe me, there is a difference. 


Engineering Expertise
In general, systems integrators have more, and more highly qualified, engineers than most dealers. A true SI will have engineers who not only know video, but large scale networks, building codes, HVAC, electrical and more. They are in a position to use their engineering team to work with you, your architect and your contractor to develop everything in the system, not just the gear.

Project Management
The way they handle project management also sets SI's apart from dealers. Because the average project an SI works on is larger and more complex than the average project that a dealer works on, their project management structure is generally more disciplined, focused and process driven. Inventories are managed better, as is the information flow. Things don't fall through the cracks. And long timelines are managed and kept up to date. 

Communication
Quality SI's bring that same discipline to project communications. Communications involves more than just technology. It means having the focus and discipline to make sure the right people have the right information at the right time. It means making communicating on the status, issues and even problems on your project a priority.
